A word from the founders
I rented in the Netherlands in 2016 as an expat and later became a landlord myself. That gives me insight into both sides of the rental market. The thing that bothered me the most is that there were no good solutions to screen expats. In fact, traditional tools lean too heavily on Dutch databases. After years of working in banks, it was time to launch Properize and fill this gap in the market.
Since a young age, I have been actively managing within my family's real estate portfolio. As a result, I am familiar with the problems tenants face when they cannot meet payment obligations. With Properize, we have developed a tool to screen tenants in a way that is fast, safe and easy to use.
I have been renting apartments throughout Europe for over a decade. It always amazes me how real estate agents continually ask for pay stubs and other sensitive information and briefly forward it via email. I recently learned that this no longer complies with the new privacy laws. This prompted me to set up Properize: to help tenants and landlords exchange all information on a need-to-know basis while complying with legislation and protecting the privacy of both parties.
